IOOF. Hall

Designed in the Italian Renaissance style in 1876-77 as a four bay hall it was extended to the corner of Lygon Street with architects Ravenscroft and Freeman using matching details but a larger bay size. The former IOOF Building was constructed in 1962-3 as new offices for the Independent Order of Oddfellows, a friendly society. It was designed in 1959 by K F Knight of the important architectural practice of Oakley & Parkes. Former Court House

A brick courthouse built in 1874 but closed in 1915. The form of the building is simple but the entry porch has clusters of timber posts and lattice frieze.
